Your Nikko day

Asakusa → Kegon Falls → UNESCO Nikko → Tokyo

Times are approximate. The order is designed to visit the mountain area earlier in the day and reduce exposure to afternoon road congestion, especially during the autumn foliage season.

Meet at Tobu Asakusa

Meet at Tobu Asakusa Station before boarding the limited express train to Nikko.

Train to Nikko

Relax on the limited express journey from Asakusa to Tobu-Nikko.

Kegon Falls

Head directly toward the mountain area to see Nikko’s spectacular 97-metre waterfall before returning to the historic centre.

Lunch

Enjoy lunch in Nikko. Yuba, the local tofu-skin specialty, is one of the classic choices.

Nikko Toshogu

Explore the richly decorated mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, including the celebrated Yomeimon Gate, the Three Wise Monkeys and the Sleeping Cat.

Rinno-ji & Shinkyo Bridge

Continue through Nikko’s sacred precinct with Rinno-ji and finish at the vermilion Shinkyo Bridge, one of the city’s most iconic views.

Return to Tobu-Nikko Station

Make our way back toward the station with a comfortable buffer before the return train.

Return to Asakusa
